Models for Galactic Cosmic - Raypropagationa

چکیده
A new numerical model of particle propagation in the Galaxy has been developed, which allows the study of cosmic-ray and gamma-ray production and propagation in 2D or 3D, including a full reaction network. This is a further development of the code which has been used for studies of cosmic ray reacceleration, Galactic halo size, antiprotons and positrons in cosmic rays, the interpretation of diiuse continuum gamma rays, and dark matter. In this paper we illustrate recent results focussing on B/C, sub-Fe/Fe, ACE radioactive isotope data, source abundances and antiprotons. From the radioactive nuclei we derive a range of 3{7 kpc for the height of the cosmic-ray halo.

One of the main factors for satellite design is simulating of total ionizing dose due to space ionizing rays in devices used in space. By measurement of induced dose based on available data in different altitudes, expenses of designing, satellite weight and amount of needed fuel will be reduced. Optimum design of satellite for protecting satellite against ionizing radiation has considerable eff...
متن کامل30TH INTERNATIONAL COSMIC RAY CONFERENCE The end of the Galactic spectrum
We use a diffusion galactic model to analyze the end of the Galactic cosmic ray spectrum and its mixing with the extragalactic cosmic ray flux. We analyze the transition between Galactic and extragalactic components using two different extragalactic models. We compare the sum of the diffusive galactic spectrum and extragalactic spectrum with the available experimental data.

We give a review of cosmic ray propagation models. It is shown that the development of the theory of cosmic ray origin leads inevitably to the conclusion that cosmic ray propagation in the Galaxy is determined by effective particle scattering, which is described by spatial diffusion. The Galactic Disk is surrounded by an extended halo, in which cosmic rays are confined before escaping into inte...
متن کاملTransition from galactic to extragalactic cosmic rays
The transition from galactic to extragalactic cosmic rays is discussed. One of critical indications for transition is given by the Standard Model of Galactic cosmic rays, according to which the maximum energy of acceleration for iron nuclei is of order of E Fe ≈ 1× 10 eV. At E > E Fe the spectrum is predicted to be very steep and thus the Standard Model favours the transition at energy not much...
متن کاملSpatial Origin of Galactic Cosmic Rays in Diffusion Models : I - Standard sources in the Galactic disk
The propagation of Galactic Cosmic Ray nuclei having energies between 100 MeV/nuc and several PeV/nuc is strongly believed to be of diffusive nature. The particles emitted by a source located at a given position in the disk do not pervade the whole Galaxy, but are rather confined to a smaller region whose spatial extension is related to the height of the diffusive halo, the Galactic wind and th...
